Absurd, Crazy, delirious are some of the words that can be used to describe the scenario panning out in Pwani University College, located in Kilifi county
After students of this university were asked to defer the semester due to lack of complete fee payment and failure to sign the nominal roll classified information and a stamped notice from the school administration has informed our desk that the administration is not in any terms willing to negotiate with the students on this matter after a few of the students went to seek a common ground with the administrators.
“It is a pity that when governments the world over are struggling to offer free education from primary school to university level, Pwani university is busy making life harder for students and even threatening to send them home if they fail to complete their fee they are working so hard to make education so costly and to make it worse, its quality is ever deteriorating,” said one of the students.
The governance of Pwani University which is under the Vice Chancellor Rajab has been deteriorating over the years since they received a charter to be a public university, lack of enough equipment, poor learning environment and poor WiFi that they pay for each month have been the main issue of concern.
