A day after Cyprian Nyakundi wrote an article about two journalist, colleagues at one time, buddies and with the same ideologies later torn apart by fate to different stations but despite their distances apart, they wiped of an entire generation out of their ideologies that was Maina Kageni and Caroline Mutuko. Somehow Nyakundi almost hit the Bulls-eye of a target
It is tragic to believe that the media we so much believe in to educate, inform, warn and above all be the fourth pillar of democracy. Over the years Kenyan Media has brought in screen sirening journalists who get everybodies nickels in a twist and fail to focus on their main purpose as mentioned above.
For all the wrong reasons Kenyan Media is losing grip and drifting far much apart from what they really are supposed to do. Some of the journalists have been sworn and brainwashed to the code of irrelevance and inaccuracy. They report this whereas the news we are supposed to be getting is completely on the opposite direction.
Look at the case of Caroline Mutuko she was always an agent of 'independent ladies' she never believed in the institution of marriage. She greatly crusaded for single ladies and during her radio lifespan she brainwashed thousands of women to be single mothers. The radio veteran severely tarnished morality in our society on the other hand Maina Kageni who still remain a Kenyan morning breakfast king also made marriage seem as a business and the man as the investor.
On our screens a generation took hostage of our screens, they wore short and tight dresses and stilettos that were higher than their profession.
They always walked struggling to pull their dresses down. They gave a bad role model to kids at home who looked upon them they made young girls think wearing short and tight skirts was modest. Young girls all over the country including the students in high school started reducing the size of there skirts and even went a notch higher to tighten them.
As Kageni and Mutuko were busy dismantling the marriage institution came another group of journalist, journalist who made media a platform of 'excellent questions' well really EXCELLENT I remember one time while I was listening to an interview after the release of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(K.C.P.E) a journalist busy asking a former candidate.
Our media producers and directors are not left out either... Recently on KTN we watched Prezzo walk into an interview high I know most of the people put the blame on him for being high but honestly who was the director and the producer of the show. They call the shots instead of embarrassing the media house they would have forgone that segment and maintained the image of the media house. This was not the first case Tony Gachoka had also walked to JKL some time back severely drunk. Was there no producer or director in the show? This was very inept and embarrassing
.
The names of this media personalities will always remain on mouths we will always remember them, name them as our role models and adore them but what is undisputed is that these figures brought toxicity into our society, led others astray and negative damage that we will have to live with for decades in our community instead of establishing a new order in Kenya that glorifies hard work, innovation and excellence.

This were the new set of journalist that came to place What do you expect the kid to feel after passing there examination Sad? remorseful? this were irrelevant questions that did not serve any purpose of media. They were incompetent but since they were embraced with sponsors and journalist they stayed in for a long long time became role models to many, mentors to much more and nurtured thousands. They lied to an entire generation giving them nothing but counterproductive content."How do you feel?"
"What did you do to pass you examination?"
"What do you what to be after you finish school?"
